Hengtong Helps! Southeast Asia's Largest Floating PV Project Grid-Connected at Full Capacity
Release time:2023-11-20
A few days ago, "the country of a thousand islands" Indonesia Chirata floating photovoltaic power generation project held a full-capacity grid-connected power generation ceremony, attended by the President of Indonesia, Mr. Joko and made a speech. This project is the first and largest floating PV project in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, and also the deepest floating PV under construction in the world, which plays an important role in demonstrating and leading the development of clean energy in Indonesia and even Southeast Asia. The high-quality power transmission products and services and photovoltaic system solutions provided by Hengtong Group have created strong conditions for the smooth delivery and successful operation of the project.
Located near the equator, Indonesia is the world's largest archipelago, rich in solar energy resources, with floating photovoltaic development of inherent advantages. However, at the same time, the maximum water depth of the project area is more than 100 meters, the underwater terrain is complicated, the slope is steep, the rainy season is long, the silt layer is thick and there are primitive forests and other special environments bring great challenges to the construction, and the corrosion-resistant and high waterproofing and high reliability requirements for electric power products are extremely high. After receiving the task, Hengtong Electric Power Industry Group Power Cable Company responded quickly, formed a professional team to provide comprehensive product technical support at the first time, designed a unique water-blocking structure, high-quality products in line with the requirements of special environments, to overcome the series of construction problems such as laying on the water, sudden changes in the weather, etc., to ensure the success of the project, and gained the high degree of affirmation from the construction unit and the owner.
It is reported that, as the first large-scale centralized photovoltaic project in Indonesia, Chirata photovoltaic project creates more than 8,000 local jobs directly and indirectly during the construction period, cultivates a group of local skilled workers, and provides valuable experience demonstration for the construction of subsequent photovoltaic projects. Upon completion of the project, it is expected that the annual power generation capacity will be 300,000 MWh, which can save 117,000 tons of standard coal/year and provide enough power for 50,000 households, which will greatly alleviate the tense situation of power supply around the Indonesian island of West Java, and help the Indonesian government achieve the target of the proportion of renewable energy as soon as possible with photovoltaic power generation.
Focusing on the global green development goal, Hengtong is committed to promoting the green energy change and clean development mode of science and technology navigation, and has already had successful project experience in many countries and regions around the world, and is able to provide high-quality construction and operation and maintenance integrated solutions. In the future, Hengtong will continue to improve its green governance capacity and level, and work with global customers to contribute to a clean future.
